Dolly, Dinner, and a Show: Dolly Parton’s Stampede in Branson, MO

Share:

You can have dinner without Dolly, but why would you want to do that when you could have a show! If you’re visiting Branson, you’re probably trying to figure out which of the dozens of shows and attractions to see, but let me save you some time: Dolly Parton’s Stampede is a must-see. Here is what makes Dolly Parton’s Stampede Show one of the best dinner shows in Branson.

The Best of the West

Dolly Parton’s Stampede is a summary of all that’s best in the West. From the scenery to the food and music, the show is a love letter to the American West. Here’s what you can expect.

The Setting

From the moment you step onto the property, it’s clear this isn’t your average dinner theater. Guests are greeted by a beautiful butterfly, designed with bright flowers planted into the sloping front lawn that leads to a grand building. The unique combination of Spanish-Mission and Southern architectural elements hints at the spectacle that awaits indoors.

And the interior is a sight to see. The Dixie Stampede stadium isn’t your typical dinner theater stage: it’s an indoor, 35,000 square-foot arena! The set design is stunning, with rugged mountains and blue skies to set the mood for a Wild West experience like no other.

The Show

Now that we’ve set the stage, let’s talk about the show.

The Stampede features 32 magnificent horses and trick riders doing stunts that’ll have your jaw on the floor, all set to a mix of comedy, music, and patriotism that tugs at your heartstrings.

It all culminates in a show-stopping finale (pun intended). There's a full-on red, white, and blue celebration with Dolly's own “Color Me America” playing in the background. It's one of those goosebumps moments you don't forget.

Butterfly Dreams

Dolly Parton’s Stampede has been wowing crowds for years, but we can’t talk about the show without mentioning a stunning new addition: Butterfly Dreams! Added in 2025, this mesmerizing aerial show adds a touch of color and whimsy to an already incredible experience.

The Food:

Some dinner show attractions put all their efforts into the show, leaving the food as an afterthought. But that isn’t the case at the Stampede; the food is every bit as fantastic as the entertainment.

Once you’re seated, you’ll be served a hearty four-course meal to enjoy with the show.

What’s on the menu?

  • Creamy vegetable soup
  • A hot, flaky biscuit
  • Juicy, rotisserie chicken
  • Tender, hickory-smoked pork
  • Buttery corn on the cob
  • Homestyle mashed potatoes
  • A sweet apple turnover
  • And unlimited tea, coffee, or Coca-Cola®

While this is the standard menu, they’ve got vegetarian and gluten-free options too—just ask ahead of time when booking.

Local Tips for a Smooth Visit

The Stampede is a popular show, for good reason– it’s phenomenal! But its popularity also means you’ll need to plan ahead to ensure the perfect evening. Here are some tips for a smooth visit:

1. Book Ahead

Branson can get busy, especially in the summer and around the holidays. Stampede tickets do sell out, so grab yours early. If you’re traveling with a group of 20 or more, you might be eligible for a group discount. Make sure to call ahead and check!

2. Check the Calendar

The Christmas show runs from late October through early January. It’s a whole different kind of magic, with a live nativity scene (complete with camels), toy soldiers, and festive costumes. If you're in town for the holidays, add it to your itinerary.

3. Consider VIP Tickets and Combo Deals

If you want front-row seats, a souvenir photo, and some extra goodies, the VIP experience is totally worth it, especially if you’re celebrating something special like a birthday.

Another option to consider is their combo deal, which combines Dolly Parton’s Stampede and the Titanic Museum Attraction. Two iconic experiences with one order!

4. Arrive Early

Plan to get there at least 45 minutes before showtime. There’s a Horse Walk where you can meet the stars of the show up close (great photo op!), and the pre-show in the Saloon features live bluegrass music and family-friendly fun.

5. Grab Some Souvenirs

The gift shop has great take-home items.  Our top recommendation? Buy a bag of their signature soup mix. It’s a cozy reminder of your trip when you’re back home.
